The current project, due tomorrow is a piece for the (quite academic) Encyclopedia of Play entitled ATHLETICS, AMATEUR. We're talking 3800 words here, roughly 8 pages single spaced.
I now more about the history and philosophy of this topic than I ever wanted to. But not to worry, I won't hold forth on the subject unless I am very, very drunk.
